UIT staff recognized for their excellent work.

There were no IT governance meetings in June. The Enterprise Web Advisory Council (EWAC) will next meet on July 11; the Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) will meet on August 13; The Strategic Information Technology Committee (SITC) will meet on August 20; and the Architecture and New Technology Committee (ANTC) will meet on August 26.

Some licenses allow users to download software to personal desktops, laptops, and mobile devices; others restrict use to university-owned devices. It can get pretty complicated, but fortunately, the Office of Software Licensing's Frequently Asked Questions web page helps users wade though license terms and conditions.

The IT Professionals Forum Board of Directors recently welcomed three new members — Barry Bryson, Joel Hsia, and Matt Irsik — to its ranks. The trio had been nominated to serve by members of the IT Pros community.

Cindy Hanson, executive secretary in UIT's Teaching & Learning Technologies (TLT), was recently featured in a Deseret News article for serving 25 years as a volunteer at the Utah Arts Festival (UAF).

Held June 24 at Clark Planetarium, this year's UIT Summer Party included interactive exhibits, four films, space-themed candy, and a Southwest-style lunch by Good Day Catering.

Craig Bennion, IT Service Management (ITSM) Process Support manager in UIT Communications Infrastructure, presented on June 19 at the UETN Tech Summit in Murray, Utah. His topic was “Principles of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Change Management.”

Besides working with smart, creative people, the digital product design major enjoys the human element of usability testing, which helps improve the student user experience.

UIT Accounting team members do more than crunch numbers — they administer accounts for various units, help employees fill out their Kronos time cards, allocate student computing fee funds, track power usage at the Downtown Data Center, and more.

The Enterprise Web Advisory Council (EWAC) did not meet this month. EWAC will next meet on June 13, ANTC will meet in August, SITC will meet on September 17, and TLP will meet in August.
